A London Town Hall Wedding at Marylebone

2 min read

There's a reason Marylebone Town Hall is one of the most requested wedding venues in London - the Georgian architecture, the grand staircase, that black-and-white checkered floor that photographs and films like nowhere else. It's classic London elegance without needing a country estate to get it.

We were there recently filming a beautiful town hall wedding, and it's the perfect example of what we love about this kind of day: short, sharp, and full of genuine emotion, all packed into a couple of hours in the heart of the city.

What to expect at a Marylebone Town Hall wedding

Town hall ceremonies move at a completely different pace to a traditional wedding day, and it helps to know what you're walking into:

  • Ceremony length: Marylebone ceremonies typically run around 30–45 minutes, depending on which room you book and how many readings or personal touches you include.

  • Guest numbers: Rooms vary in capacity, so if you're planning a larger guest list, it's worth checking room options directly with the register office when you book.

  • Timing your day: Slots run back-to-back throughout the day, so there's no flexibility on start time - everyone needs to arrive with time to spare, which is worth factoring into hair, makeup, and travel plans.

  • Best photo spots: The staircase inside is the standout shot, but the steps outside are where most of the energy happens - confetti, hugs, that first "we're married" moment as a crowd.

Why town hall weddings need a different filming approach

Unlike a full wedding day, everything at a town hall wedding happens fast. There's no long build-up, no big church-aisle reveal - just a short, intimate ceremony followed by confetti on the steps and maybe a few portraits before everyone heads off to celebrate elsewhere. That pace is exactly why couples come to us for their London Town Hall Edits: two content creators capturing everything simultaneously, so nothing gets missed while you're focused on each other, not on where the camera is.

What we captured

At Marylebone, that meant the walk up that iconic staircase, the ceremony itself inside the register office, and confetti spilling down the steps out front — one of the best backdrops London has to offer for it. Compact, fast-moving, and over almost as quickly as it began, but with all the emotion of a much bigger day.
